Suzy Cohen believes that eating the right foods may increase memory retention and cognition and may even help to prevent or delay the onset of certain brain and memory disorders. In her new e-book entitled, “Recipes for a Better Memory: Eat to Preserve Your Mind,” Cohen shares delicious recipes to boost your brain power. She explains, “Old school thinking that the brain has a fixed number of neurons is wrong. The brain can and does heal over time, depending on this issue.” With this breakthrough of knowledge, Suzie realized the importance of helping the brain repair itself. “The brain needs nutrient dense foods to heal faster and is more protected with certain herbs and foods.” Suzy formulated MemoryScript with her father and others in mind. Herbs like Lion’s Mane Mushroom, Phosphatidylserine, Ginkgo and Bacopa monnieir help with brain function along with DHA Script which is a special fish oil supplement. According to Suzy, the nine best foods for memory are avocado, dill, seafood, pomegranate, tomato, berries, citrus, oregano, and poppy seeds.

As we age, our hair, skin and nails do as well. Suzy explains, “A lot of folks would like to look more youthful and have concerns about their hair and skin, and the effects of aging.”  Aging occurs (in part) due to free radicals like peroxide. To counteract that Suzy formulated Catalase which neutralizes peroxide.

Joint pain hinders us later in life. Suzie tackles this issue with JointScript which contains ingredients like collagen and frankincense powder to help ease joint pain and aid with flexibility which in turn affects our life and how we sleep.

Low energy can point to low iron or low thyroid which are often tied together. Suzy says, “It could be that your mitochondria (the little batteries in each cell) aren’t generating ATP anymore.  These ‘mito’ get damaged over time due to our diet, medications we take and aging.  Most B vitamins do not penetrate the mitochondria, in fact, some contain micro molecules of cyanide which can attack your eye. Unfortunately, these B vitamins are sold widely in health food stores.” Thyroid is the #1 energy producing gland in the body! As we age our thyroid suffers. Green nutrient dense foods help with that like salads, green beans, Swiss chard, and spinach.

Suzy has been a licensed pharmacist for the last 25 years and is known as “America’s Pharmacist™” and is a functional medicine practitioner for the last 15. For the first 6 years of her career, Suzy was sold on pharmaceutical drugs, but for the last 19 years, she has studied how natural supplements work on our systems, without the harmful side effects of drugs. Suzy explains, “I didn’t always have knowledge into natural medicine. I was a hard-core pharmacist when I graduated in 1989 from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. I knew the next best drug and could rattle them off like the true nerd I am. But when my husband didn’t respond to typical conventional treatment for his symptoms, I started to learn about natural teas, herbs and vitamins which could relieve symptoms as well as medications, but without the harmful side effects.”  She devotes time to educating people about the benefits of natural vitamins, herbs and minerals. In addition to writing a syndicated health column, “Dear Pharmacist,” which circulates to 22 million readers each week, Suzy Cohen is the author of many different books on natural health. You may have seen her on The Dr. OZ Show (6 different appearances), The View, The Doctors, The 700 Club, Good Morning America Health and hundreds of morning shows. Other media include: First for Women, Fitness, Natural Health and Better Homes & Garden and dozens more. She has delved deeply into metabolic pathways in the body and how vitamins and minerals affect these pathways.  Suzy decided to develop a line of supplements in the last 3 years using non-GMO (genetically modified organisms). She incorporates biblical, medicinal herbs into each formula.  “I’ve done the research for this and with my pharmacy background and love for God’s plants, I came up with these supplements,” says Suzy.   For more information, please visit www.SuzyCohen.com.
