Is 'Christian State' Group Threatening to Kill Muslims a Fake?

11-30-2015

The media is reporting on the existence of a new "Christian" terror group in Belgium threatening to kill Muslims to avenge the recent Paris terrorist attack.

According to news reports, a letter from a group calling itself the “Christian State” was delivered to the Attadamoune Mosque in Molenbeek, Belgium, and was found by Jamal Habbachich, a Muslim leader.

I’m not buying this. Belgium is not a hotbed of violent Christians who want to kill Muslims. But a number of news outlets seem to have swallowed this hook, line and sinker.

Why? It fits the Left’s thinking that Christian “extremists” are just as violent as Muslim extremists; nevermind that the overwhelming majority of the world’s terrorists are Muslim.

The European Left exalts Islam and hates Christianity. European governments have actively helped Islam spread throughout the EU. I also have no doubt the European Left feels badly that Islam has been cast in such a bad light by the recent Paris attacks. There’s actually a great cathartic need for a “Christian State,” as demonstrated by the uncritical reporting on what I think is a hoax.

The threatening letter, which was full of spelling mistakes, said that “no mosque and none of your businesses will be safe” and threatened that “brothers [Muslims] will be slaughtered like pigs and crucified as our Lord converts their souls.”

“Brothers”? This was written by a Muslim with a poor understanding of Christian salvation. European Protestants and Catholics are not known to want to kill Muslims, and European Neo-Nazis are not Christian, but pagan.

Muslim leader Habbachich told local media outlet RTBF, "We will turn to the authorities of our country and complain to the police, naturally. Because there are two situations when you receive this kind of letter: it is a document written by someone wacky unbalanced, or it's a very serious threat.”

No, Mr. Habbachich, there is a third “situation,” and that is to create a fake threat to deflect criticism away from Belgium’s obviously troubled Muslim community and to turn it into sympathy.
