Silent Prayer Leads to Pain Free Days

Florence Davis and her husband Galen love the outdoors. They especially enjoy leisurely walks and pontoon boat rides on the lake behind their Texas home. In January, 2020, those times became much less enjoyable when Florence started having severe, unrelenting pain in her jaw.

I had pain in one of my jaws as time progressed, it went from one jaw, and started moving into the other. It was a constant pain, it never went away," said Florence.

As the days turned into weeks, Florence’s condition worsened.

It hurt to eat. It was painful when I would lay down at night. It was hard to go to sleep, I would toss and turn until I could find a comfortable position not to have the pain. It hurt all the time," said Florence.

Still, Florence was reluctant to seek medical help.

“About that time, Covid hit and so I was very apprehensive about going to a doctor or a dentist at that time," said Florence.

She didn’t even let on to her husband Galen how much she was suffering.

“You know, when she hurts, I hurt. She just did not complain much about it," said Galen.

After several months, Florence was having more than physical pain.

“It was always on the back of your mind that you are constantly in pain. It takes an emotional toll on you after a while. There’s a frustration that you experience just by being in such a constant pain. I would pray to God and ask him to take the pain away," said Florence.

The Davis’ understand the power of prayer. They especially like the times of prayer on The 700 Club.

“l pray right along with them, whoever they are praying for, we know it’s God’s time to touch those people," said Galen.

On April 10, 2020 as Florence settled down to watch the program, she soon found out it was her special day.

“There’s someone that is experiencing pain in their jaws. I just want you to know that God is not only going to remove it, but that it will be gone, never to have it again," said Terry Meeuwsen on the show.

“I grabbed my jaws and I just said, 'God, I’m claiming this. This is my prayer, this is for me. This is going to happen for me.' After she finished praying my pain had left. Right after that, my husband came in and sat down beside me and I told him, 'Galen, I don’t feel the pain anymore. My jaws are not hurting,'" said Florence.

“She was happy and she was very relieved that God did this for her," said Galen.

Today, Florence is still pain-free and enjoying the simple pleasures of life again.

“It’s like you have a sense of gratitude, a constant gratitude. I just realized that God does care about the small things. It has made me so grateful for all the small things that He does on a daily basis," said Florence.

“We read the stories about how Jesus healed but that just wasn’t in that time, it’s for today. God can reach down and touch you whatever your need," said Galen.

“Just don’t give up and continue to pray it through it. Eventually you will see an answer," said Florence.
