NEW YORK, NY (February 16, 2017) - Loved and worshipped by billions, Jesus of Nazareth is, unquestionably, the most famous person of the last 2,000 years.

His influence on art, politics, education, literature, music, law, language, philosophy and philanthropy continues to this day.

The second season of CNN’s original hit series Finding Jesus: Faith, Fact, Forgery will explore and examine six new relics emanating from the world of the Bible. These relics are believed to have had a direct impact on Jesus’ childhood, ministry, and the growth of Christianity throughout the world.

Utilizing the latest state-of-the-art scientific techniques and archaeological research, the series, which premieres on Sunday, March 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT will explore the value and authenticity of the following:

  • The Childhood Home of Jesus
  • The Tomb of King Herod
  • The Bones of St. Peter
  • Relics Believed To Shed Truth About Doubting Thomas
  • The Pilate Stone
  • The Tomb of Lazarus

In addition to the scientific evidence and compelling historical commentary presented, each episode of the six-part series is also a thrilling and emotional drama that takes audiences back in time to the world, culture, politics, and dangers faced or created by these well-known biblical figures– all of whom are much talked about in the Gospel.

A first-class panel of on-screen contributors from the world’s best universities including Yale, Harvard, Princeton and Oxford will provide expert comment. The series will also feature insights from some of the world’s leading religious theologians and Christian leaders such as:

  • Erwin McManus (MOSAIC, Los Angeles)
  • Father James Martin, SJ (Author, Jesus: A Pilgrimage)
  • A.R. Bernard (Christian Cultural Centre, New York)
  • Bishop Minerva Carcaño (United Methodist Church)
  • Prof. Ben Witherington III (Asbury Theological Seminary)

These experts bring their knowledge of the Bible and the ancient world to connect the audience to these key figures in history, their journey, and their relationship to Jesus of Nazareth, who today continues to impact and inspire people around the world.
