Exclusive: Joe Scarborough Defends Hanging Out With Liberals: Jesus "hung out with the tax collectors."
In an exclusive interview with The Brody File from 30 Rock in New York, MSNBC Morning Joe Host Joe Scarborough defended his reputation as a conservative, saying hanging out with liberals doesn’t make him a bad guy. Then came a biblical parallel. “Jesus didn’t hang out with the religious leaders. He didn’t hang out with the people who patted him on the back. He hung out with the tax collectors. He hung out with those that others had contempt for.” Scarborough also addressed his critics who call him a RINO (Republican In Name Only). “I may be a Republican In Name Only by 2013 because what separates me from you, talk radio person that’s screaming at me at the top of your lungs, I’ve won elections…I may be a RINO in that 2013 I am focused on winning. I want us to do what’s right. I want us to be pragmatic.”
The Brody File recently spoke with Scarborough on the set of his popular morning show. We not only talked on the set but also visited his office at 30 Rock where he shared some personal stories as well.
