In an exclusive interview with The Brody File, Karen Santorum, wife of soon-to-be presidential candidate Rick Santorum says this upcoming presidential race in 2012 is “about going on to the battlefield and defending God’s truth in the World.”

I spoke to the soon-to-be presidential contender and his wife at their home in Northern Virginia. This is the first time Karen Santorum has done a TV interview in five years. My television piece on Santorum’s presidential aspirations runs this Wednesday on "The 700 Club."

Watch the clip and read a small sampling of the transcript below. The answer is much longer than the transcript.

On Rick Santorum running for President

Karen: For me it’s not just another political race. It’s about going on to the battlefield and defending God’s truth in the World.

Rick: We may leave America weaker. I believe that can be changed like anything else but you have to get out on the field. You can’t sit on the sidelines.... What’s happening here in America today is not something that’s a flash in the pan. I think we’re seeing a real revival of sorts of the American spirit and obviously I want to be a part of that.
