Brody File Exclusive: Santorum Says Romney Can't Connect and Has No Enthusiasm

03-05-2012

Rick Santorum tells The Brody File that Mitt Romney cannot connect with voters or generate enthusiasm for his candidacy. Watch and read his comments below.

I interviewed Santorum backstage Monday evening after his event in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

David Brody: Is there something to be said though, about organization and money from the get-go for this guy? It’s a harder climb for someone like yourself.

Rick Santorum: The problem is we have to win the general. The problem is we have to win the general, and money is not going to win the general election.

He’s not connecting with the people he has to connect with, and he’s not getting their support. He’s not getting the enthusiasm and so where are you when this is all over?

You have a candidate who won’t have as much money as Obama, won’t have a message that appeals, won’t be a candidate that connects with people, and on the most important issue of the day, as I mentioned tonight, Obamacare, he is uniquely disqualified.

Where does that leave the Republican Party? Were staying in this thing.
