Video: Voter Confronts Romney by Quoting From Book of Mormon at Town Hall Event

04-02-2012

There was an awkward moment at a Mitt Romney town hall this morning in Green Bay when a man started to list controversial quotes from the Book of Mormon.

It appears that one of Romney’s staffers looks like he’s trying to stop the man from continuing and then Romney says that he’s not here to have a conversation about religion.

The man's question to Romney was as follows:

Man: Okay, well, in the Mormon Book it says there was a blackness came upon all the children of Canaan.

Romney: I'm sorry, we're just not going to have a discussion about religion in my view, but I can, if you have a question, I'd be happy to answer your question.

(inaudible from man)

Man: (difficult to hear) Do you believe it is a sin for a white man to marry and pro-create with a black woman?

Romney: No. Next question.

Romney may not want to talk about his Mormon faith, but the problem is if he becomes the nominee, you can be sure Democrats will bring it up behind the scenes with reporters in a stealth-type way.

In addition, he’s going to have to be ready for stories about the potential for the first “Mormon President.” He may not want to talk about it but the media will and do their best to define the narrative with help from liberals.
