Marco Rubio Right On The Money When It Comes To Mainstream Christianity And Hate Speech

05-28-2015

Well, it seems my interview with Marco Rubio made a few headlines this past week. Rubio told me that our society seems on our way to labeling the teachings of mainstream Christianity “hate speech.” The mainstream media and many liberal outlets think this is absurd. They think that this will never happen or think Rubio is foolish for even going there.

Well, liberals, let me honestly ask you a few questions. Let’s explore a few verses from mainstream Christianity shall we? Would you consider the following line from the Bible hate speech?

Matthew 7:12: “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”

This line is considered, “The Golden Rule” and I’m assuming you would say this line is obviously NOT hate speech. Of course you would be right. President Obama loves to quote this line all the time.

Now, let me ask you about this line, which is also from the New Testament. Is this hate speech?

1 Corinthians 6:9-11: “Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
I’m thinking you’re going to have a problem with this one. You’ve got no problem with, “The Golden Rule” but this one (especially if you’re homosexual) rubs you the wrong way doesn’t it?

So what’s the point? Look, first of all don’t say Rubio is wrong when he says that the teachings of mainstream Christianity are on their way to be labeled hate speech. You don’t think someone who is gay wouldn’t have a problem with that line in 1 Corinthians? Of course they would and that’s the point. Folks, this IS mainstream Christianity teaching. If you’re gay, you may not like it but God makes the rules, we don’t.  The homosexual lobby DOES NOT wants you to hear that line for good reason. Do you really think they will be ok with pastors saying those types of lines from the pulpit when non-profit 501C3 churches are getting tax exemptions from the government? I mean, c’mon liberals. I thought you were the smart ones!
Secondly, can we get real here for a moment? If you defend traditional marriage from a biblical point of view in today’s society, you will take plenty of slings and arrows for it. The tables have turned. Mainstream Christian teaching is most definitely under attack. Don’t take my word for it. Don’t take Rubio’s word for it. Just look around you. If you accept gay marriage then you’re sitting at the “cool table.” If you hold true to the biblical definition of traditional marriage then you’re an old-fashioned nerd with a pencil in your pocket.

Oh, and by the way: I’ll leave you with this: When it comes to marriage, I’m going with God’s traditional view, not public opinion polls. People are fickle. God is not. I’m sticking with God on this one. And you know what? So is Marco Rubio. Does that make Rubio a hater? No. Of course not. And if you think he is a hater because he feels this way, then guess what? You just proved his point. C’mon liberals. You’re too smart to not get this.
