I think the best thing that happened to Republicans Tuesday night was the GOP rebuttal by Congresswoman Cathy McMorris-Rodgers. She was poised, smart, looked comfortable, she was smiling and she articulated GOP principles in a very even handed, folksy way. It really was pitch perfect.
Obviously the Republican Party has some serious work to do to recapture the female vote. The democrats, along with the liberal media have done a good job cementing this “war on women” narrative and quite frankly, the GOP has done a very poor job of combating it. This is going to be a major challenge for the Republican Party going forward. The good news is that the GOP has a deep bench of smart women. They just need to figure out how to use that to their political advantage.
