Baby on the Verge of Death

When Zhanxu was a hundred days old, the Lu’s celebrated by giving him a bowtie necklace made out of money.

His mother explains, “It’s a custom here. And even though we didn’t have much money, we made the necklace so our son would live a long and healthy life.”

They hoped he’d live to be 100. But by the time he was nine months old, he started having bad colds.

“He got dehydrated and couldn’t breathe,” Mrs. Lu remembers. “Every time I heard him cough, it felt like my heart was hit by something, and no medicine helped him.”

After a few bouts with pneumonia, Zhanxu ended up in the hospital, where doctors discovered that he had a hole in his heart and suggested that he go to a bigger hospital for help.

“He was in so much pain, and his lips were purple,” Mr. Lu expresses. “I vowed to do everything I could to save his life.”

Mrs. Lu adds, “I thought about that necklace we gave him. It didn’t make him healthy. I cried, and Zhanxu took his little hand to wipe my tears, like he was saying, ‘What’s wrong mom?’ He was so sick, but he comforted me.”

Zhanxu needed heart surgery.

Mrs. Lu confesses, “We didn’t have enough money for an operation. It felt like we were trapped in a swamp. Our son was on the verge of death, and I was afraid of losing him.”

Mr. Lu says, “I told Zhanxu, ‘Don’t worry. You’ll get better.’ Then I went to pray in the corner of the hospital and asked God for help.”

Soon after, a doctor introduced the Lu’s to CBN, and we got Zhanxu scheduled for heart surgery right away.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Mrs. Lu exclaims. “The current economy is so bad, but those kind people were still willing to help us, and they brought us the love of God.”

Today, Zhanxu is a healthy little boy.

Mrs. Lu notes, “He used to be a withered flower. Now, his height and weight are normal, he’s lively, and he’s curious about everything. I’m so happy.”

Mr. Lu concludes, “God listened to our prayers. He moved the good people of CBN to help us and show us his love. Blessings to you. May God help you with all your difficulties. I will pray for you, and I hope that Zhanxu will be a doctor in the future so he can help children in poor families and also pass-on the love of God to others.”
