Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson says a "mob mentality of political correctness is assaulting America's Judeo-Christian values and "we're slowly losing our soul."

He's teamed up with Citizens United, a conservative group,  to speak out against laws that would allow transgendered men and women to use the bathroom of their choice.

"Just because a man may 'feel' like a woman doesn't mean he should be able to share the bathroom with my daughter or yours. That used to be called common sense. Now it's called bigoted," the Duck Commander wrote in an email.

Robertson's email contains a link to a website seeking donations for an effort called Speak Freely from Citizens United.

The email does not make mention of North Carolina, but the state has been at the forefront of the bathroom controversy.

North Carolina has filed a lawsuit to keep in place an ordinance requiring transgender people to use the public restroom that matches the sex on their birth certificate.

"We believe a court, rather than a federal agency should tell our state, our nation and employers throughout the nation what the law requires," said Gov. Pat McCrory.
