Anne Graham Lotz Posted This Sweet Photo with an Update on Her Cancer Battle: 'Praising God by Faith'
Evangelist Anne Graham Lotz has posted an update on her Instagram account about her last chemo treatment. The photo shows Lotz in the hospital bed with her two daughters on each side.
"Thank you so much for your prayers! And thank God for His answers! Today my numbers were good so I didn't have to have the painful neulasta patch. And my neuropathy is so bad they dropped one of my chemos," she wrote. "My beautiful daughters have been by my side every time. In a month I will begin 4 weeks of daily radiation while continuing one infusion every three weeks until October. This was the 7th dip in the 'Jordan.' Praising God by faith that all is well."
The update comes after her nephew, Will Graham, informed followers she was still dealing with weakness and exhaustion, but she wanted to get back into ministry.
"She wants to preach. She's a preacher. She wants to get out and preach and preach and preach," he had said recently.
Ministry has been at the forefront of Lotz's mind during her treatment process. In a post on her website, she asked the question if cancer at 70 was just a random coincidence.
"At 70 years of age, why did I come down with cancer? My cancer is potentially fatal. It struck swiftly and unexpectedly. It required immediate, prompt, drastic surgery and follow-up treatments that include chemotherapy and radiation. Through our prayers and God's answers, I believe I will be victorious over it", she wrote. "But the word of the Lord has come to me, Anne, what do you see? As I have contemplated the answer in light of my present circumstances, I have wondered…Could it be there is more to my cancer at the age of 70 than just a random coincidence?"
Lotz went on to highlight God's way of having spokespersons to "live out the message He gave them before they delivered the message to the people." She went on to mention Old Testament stories about prophets Hosea, Jeremiah, and Isaiah.
CBN News recently reported Lotz feels God has healed her of cancer.
"While praying with my two daughters following my fifth chemo treatment, God seemed to indicate He had healed me. Cleansed me. Removed cancer from me. I pondered in my heart what I believe He had said," she wrote. "I began questioning whether or not I should continue chemo if, in fact, I was already healed. The weakness and weariness have been debilitating. The side-effects have been daunting. I did not want to continue treatments if they were unnecessary. One morning I decided to pray specifically, asking God to confirm from His Word whether or not I was to continue chemo treatments if I was already healed."
Then her daughter Rachel-Ruth visited just hours later and shared what she had read from 2 Kings 5, about the Syrian general, Naaman, who had leprosy. The prophet Elisha told Naaman to wash seven times in the Jordan, and then he would be healed. Lotz felt that was a confirmation from the Lord that her 7th chemo treatment would be her last and would complete her healing.
