How Many Refugees Will Federal Govt Allow in 2021? Advocates Argue Christian Lives at Stake

The Trump administration faces an Oct. 1 deadline to decide how many refugees the US will admit in 2021. In the last three years, it has slashed the number dramatically. 

A July report from Open Doors USA and World Relief showed a 90% reduction since 2015 in the number of Christian refugees the US has resettled from countries where the church faces persecution.

Jen Smyers, the director of policy and advocacy for the immigration and refugee program at Church World Service, recently appeared on CBN's Newswatch to explain what's at stake with this year's decision.
