To the dismay of its many fans, the popular reality television series "Duck Dynasty" is finally coming to an end.

The Robertson family announced on Wednesday night's premiere episode of the 11th season that they and the A&E network have agreed to pull the plug on the reality series.

The show, starring the successful Louisiana duck call-making family, the Robertsons, has been one of reality TV's biggest hits.

"They promote family," one woman told CBN News back in 2013. "They promote Christian beliefs and it's funny. It's entertaining. It's just an all-around family-oriented show."

Viewers say the show is so appealing because it's wholesome, a refreshing escape from a world that often forgets what's really important.

"I think they're good role models for the family," one fan said. "And things are so fast paced it seems like when you watch that show it kind of just puts things back into perspective and just puts a smile on your face."

The five-year-old series will air new episodes through the spring, with the final episode coming in March or April.
