Americans across the country should brace for another extremely cold and snowy winter.

The Old Farmer's Almanac is calling for above-normal snow and below-normal temperatures in the Northeast.

It also predicts places that usually don't get much snow, like the Pacific Northwest, will also see some white stuff this year.

As far as El Niño's impact on California, the almanac says the drought-stricken state will get some urgently needed rain this coming winter. But it likely won't be enough to end the drought.
