NASA Scientists Discover Flowing Water on Mars

Photographic evidence appears to show streams of water flowing on Mars during the summer season, according to a team of scientists.

Images captured by NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter support a theory that salt water is flowing from high elevations down the Martian landscape, scientists announced Monday.

"Mars just got more interesting," NASA tweeted prior to the press conference announcing the discovery. The space agency called the results "a major science finding."

Liquid water is a key component of life, so the discovery increases speculation of the possibility of finding life on Mars.

That discovery could have a significant impact on NASA decisions to send a manned flight to the Red Planet.
