One year ago SIM missionary Dr. Rick Sacra was fighting for his life at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

After working with ebola patients in Liberia during the 2014 epidemic, he contracted the deadly virus and became the third U.S. patient.

Today, he's healthy and has resumed his medical work with SIM, a Christian mission organization.

Sacra said Liberia lost 200 healthcare workers in the ebola outbreak, which has severely strained its healthcare system. However, a new vaccine is helping to contain the disease.

Dr. Sacra shared more about the drug with CBN's Heather Sells. Click play to watch the interview.
