JERUSALEM, Israel – A female terrorist rammed her car into a group of Israeli soldiers standing on the sidewalk at the Gush Etzion Junction Friday morning, lightly injuring one soldier while the others managed to get out of the way.

A large kitchen knife was found on the dashboard of her car, indicating she may have planned to stab her victims after running them over.

"An assailant rammed her vehicle into a soldier guarding the Gush Etzion Junction," the IDF Spokesman's Office said in a statement. "The soldier was wounded and evacuated for treatment in [the] hospital. Forces on site responded to the imminent threat and shot the attacker, resulting in her death. A knife was found in the assailant's vehicle."

The soldier was transported to Jerusalem's Shaare Tzedek Medical Center with leg injuries. He's slated to be released Friday afternoon after doctors determined there was no internal bledding or other life-threatening injuries.

The Gush Etzion Junction, a 15-minute drive south of Jerusalem, has been a favorite site for terror attacks. Last fall, it was the scene of 10 attacks, including a drive-by shooting on November 19 that killed three people. On November 23, an Arab terrorist stabbed 21-year-old Hadar Buchris to death.

Meanwhile, Hamas spokesman Husam Badran warned of increasing infiltrations into Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria as the next phase of what he called the "Jerusalem intifada" (armed Palestinian uprising).

According to Badran, Hamas is preparing "additional surprises" for Jewish residents of Israel's biblical heartland, the Jerusalem Post reported.

Badran applauded Wednesday's terror attacks – two stabbings and one shooting – in Nablus (biblical Shechem), which injured three Israeli soldiers. The "settlements," he said, are Israel's weak points, thereby allowing for "new forms of courageous attacks."

The goal is to strike fear into the hearts of Jews living in Israel's biblical homeland.

"In the next days, the West Bank's settlers will witness additional surprises from Hamas," Badran said.
