JERUSALEM, Israel – Just a day before last week's deadly shooting at Tel Aviv's Sarona Market, which left four dead and 16 injured, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the "military" wing of the Hamas terror organization, posted an article on its website calling for jihad and martyrdom during Ramadan.

Entitled "The Month of Jihad, Fighting and Victory over our Enemies," the article, translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), calls jihad the "pinnacle of Islam" and says Allah "commanded and urged" Muslims to wage jihad during Ramadan.

The article praises the "impressive battles of heroism and martyrdom" by the "Palestinian resistance" during Operation Protective Edge in the summer of 2014, saying Hamas dealt "fatal blows" to Israel, shattering the "myth of the undefeatable (Israeli) army."

"Jihad for the sake of Allah is the pinnacle of Islam," the author continues. "By this means, honor is acquired in this world and in the world to come. It is one of the best and most noble deeds."

According to Hamas, Allah the almighty commanded Muslims to wage jihad and anyone who dies a martyr sells his soul to Allah.

Ramadan, it says, is "a way station…for "preparing the soul to enter the vortex of jihad."

No wonder some teenagers are so fascinated with this ideology.
