A hand grenade exploded inside the courtyard of a Catholic church in the Gaza Strip Wednesday.

The attackers also wrote a derogatory slogan on the church wall. No further damage or injuries were reported.

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights condemned the act and called for a "serious investigation."

The number of Christians in Gaza is rapidly shrinking due to violent persecution in recent years.
