JERUSALEM, Israel – During the month of Elul on the Hebrew calendar, Jewish people mark God's creation of the world. This year, Elul falls in August and September on the Gregorian calendar. Part of the celebration includes an event its organizers believe could be a fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

The sound of shofars (ram's horn), words from Genesis projected onto Jerusalem's Old City walls, and music from a symphony and choir marked the event called the World Creation Concert. Organizers hope it will become an annual celebration.

The reconstituted Sanhedrin, established in 2004, sponsored the event.

Rabbi Hillel Weiss, who serves as the Sanhedrin's spokesman, hopes the annual concert will spread throughout the world to usher in peace, blessing and health.

"We hope this will be the starting of the year for all the globe – every year with such a concert that will be spread in all the squares around the world that will pray toward Jerusalem, toward the Temple, toward the Holy of Holiness – altogether that the year will be fruitful with peace, with blessing, with health and this is our prayer to the entire world," Weiss said.

Rev. David Decker, Christian liaison with the Sanhedrin, explained the vision.

"What they're hoping to achieve through this is to present this before God, before HaShem [the Name], Lord look we're ready for all the Bible prophecies to start to come to pass, including the prophecy to build the holy third Jewish temple not far from here," Decker told CBN News.

The concert took place just below the Temple Mount.

"Tonight there's a lot of organizations getting together to celebrate the creation of the world and what the Temple Mount is supposed to be, which is a house of prayer for all nations," John Enarson with Cry for Zion told CBN News. "So the Jewish people are graciously inviting all the nations to celebrate just right next to what is going to be a house of prayer for all nations."

Guatemala's new ambassador to Israel, Mario Bucaro, came to show his support. Earlier this year, Guatemala became the second nation to move its embassy to Jerusalem.

"We represent the heart of Guatemala," Bucaro said. "Since '48, Guatemala has been dedicated to establish and make more stronger relationship with Israel. We believe that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel and we are here as a nation that is really having a friendship not only by words."

Organizers of the concert are already preparing for next year.
