JERUSALEM, Israel –Two Israeli soldiers were injured in a ramming attack by three Palestinians in the West Bank early Monday morning.

The attack happened in the village of Kafr Ni'ma northwest of Ramallah and left one of the IDF soldiers in serious condition. Soldiers who witnessed the incident opened fire on the vehicle's three occupants, killing two and lightly injuring another.

"The injured soldiers were evacuated to a hospital for further medical treatment. Their families have been notified," an IDF spokesperson said.

Hamas praised the terrorists for their work.

"The deaths of these two martyrs west of Ramallah this morning proves that the Palestinian people will continue its struggle against the occupation until it obtains all of its rights and frees its land," the terror group said according to Arutz 7.

"The message of the young rebels in the West Bank is that they will not calm down unless and until the occupation is expelled, the holy sites are liberated, and the plan to Judaize Jerusalem is terminated."

According to an IDF spokesperson, the three terrorists had been responsible for a firebombing attack shortly before the ramming attack.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered for the homes of the terrorists to be demolished.

"I gave instructions to speed up the demolitions of these homes within the limitations of the judicial system. We are determined to continue our vigorous struggle against murderers and against terror wherever it is."

Initial IDF investigations suggest that the terrorists responsible for attacking the Israeli soldiers were also responsible for throwing firebombs at a crossing point near Route 443 just a few hours earlier.

"Following the car-ramming attack in Kafr Ni'ma, an initial inquiry suggests that earlier in the evening, the assailants of the car ramming attack also hurled firebombs at a crossing adjacent to Route 443. Additional firebombs were later found in the vehicle that had been used in the terror attack," the IDF said.

The attacks came after an IDF operation in the West Bank that resulted in the arrest of 11 Hamas members.

"Overnight, IDF troops operated in the Ramallah District as part of a campaign targeting the Hamas terror organization. IDF and Border Police forces apprehended 11 Hamas operatives during the operation."
