A dispute between neighbors in a Chicago suburb is pitting nuns against strippers.

The Missionary Sisters of Saint Charles Borromeo are asking a court to shut down Allure, the strip club next to their convent.

The nuns say the noisy club disrupts their prayers and violates a law forbidding adult entertainment within a thousand feet of a place of worship.

The club "tears at the fabric of our community," Sister Neomia Silva said. "You have a religious order, then you have a strip club -- it's simply not right."

Sean O'Brien, who owns the Allure Club, said it's about a difference of ideology and not a case for the law.

"In our opinion, they have the right to do what they believe and we have the right to do what we believe in," he said.

The nuns say the club forces them to deal with drunkenness, litter, and public violence, despite the high fence that surrounds the property.

They say the community should be free of the kind of activity the strip club draws.
