Jury deliberations are underway Tuesday in the Boston Marathon bombing trial.

Jurors are deciding if Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is guilty in the terrorist attack that killed three and injured hundreds nearly two years ago.

Lawyers for both sides say Tsarnaev must be held accountable for his actions. But his defense team also argues he was under the influence of his older brother and should be spared the death penalty.

Former Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley explained the strategy of Tsarnaev's attorney.

"She made this point: but for the older brother, this younger brother would not have been pulled into this enterprise and this never would have happened," Coakley said.

Seventeen of the 30 charges Tsarnaev is facing carry the death penalty. A second round of deliberations will determine if he's executed or sentenced to life in prison.
