Bowe Bergdahl has his day in court Tuesday. The U.S. army sergeant faces a military judge on charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy.

If convicted, Bergdahl could get life in prison on the misbehavior charge and up to five years for desertion.

Bergdahl walked away from his post in Afghanistan in 2009 and was held by the Taliban for five years.

He was then released into U.S. custody as part of a prisoner exchange for five senior Taliban detainees from Guantanamo Bay.
