The police officer in McKinney, Texas, who was seen on video pushing a black girl to the ground outside a pool party has resigned.

Footage of Officer David Eric Casebolt has gone viral. It shows Casebolt wrestling the 14-year-old girl to the ground and then brandishing his weapon at other teens.

The pool party incident, which is still under investigation, has prompted cries of racism.

Brandon Brooks, who recorded the incident, told reporters, "I was like one of the few Caucasian people at the party, so I think it might have had something to do with racism. I was scared that someone was going to get shot and possibly killed."

Brooks said he watched in fear as his black friends were singled out. The McKinney Police Chief Greg Conley called Casebolt's actions "indefensible."

This is not the first time Casebolt's police work has been called into question. He was accused in a federal lawsuit of racial profiling and excessive force during a drug search in 2007.
