The face of America is changing as immigration patterns continue to shift.

A new study by the Pew Research Center finds Asians are on their way to becoming the largest immigrant group in the next 50 years.

The study shows that by 2055, Asians will make up 36 percent of the country's immigrant population. Hispanics will comprise 34 percent.

Immigrants are expected to make up 18 percent of America's population in 50 years.

Those projected figures make the nation's share of immigrants higher than the immigration wave from Europe in the 19th and 20th centuries.
