The Oscars are just around the corner, but another award show celebrating Christian entertainment in Hollywood is growing in popularity: the 24th Annual MovieGuide Awards Gala.

"The awards have grown just tremendously, the awards have grown from just a little press conference, and now we sell out about two or three weeks ahead of time," Ted Baehr, CEO and founder of Movieguide, said.

"What we show people is that the more Christian content they put in a movie the better they do at the box office," he added.

This year Sadie Robertson from "Duck Dynasty" and actor Joe Mantegna of "Criminal Minds" will be co-hosting the event.

Karen Abercrombie, who stars in the film "War Room" has been nominated for the Most Inspiring Performance award for her role in the film.

"I am honored and especially because it's a God-honoring project," Abercrombie told CBN News.

CBN's Charlene Aaron spoke with Karen Abercrombie on why she thinks "War Room" was such a success. Click play to watch.
