Public prayers are on trial in a federal court Wednesday as the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals considers the case of county commissioners in Rowan, North Carolina.

A federal judge has already ruled they violated the Constitution by praying Christian prayers at their meetings.

This is the first public prayer case since the Supreme Court ruled in 2014 that such prayers are okay.

The high court had upheld a New York town's use of mainly Christian prayers at its meetings.
