Members of Keystone Fellowship Church in North Wales, Pennsylvania, are grieving the loss of a church member who was shot and killed during a worship service last Sunday morning.

Monday, grief counselors were on hand during a memorial ceremony for the victim and to help congregants who witnessed the shooting.

Keystone Lead Pastor John Cope led the congregation in hymns and prayers not only for the victim, but also for the shooter, whom he did not name and for those who witnessed the incident.

"Those people were raised in mercy, and we pray for them. There's children involved, there's a wife involved -- just pray for that family," Cope said.

Cope also quoted several Bible passages dealing with anger, fear, confusion, and hope.

"We're going to see Robby again. We know that. That's our hope," Cope said.

"And for all of us that have lost loved ones, we're gonna see them too. That's the hope that we have," he said.

The victim was Robert Braxton, 27, a member of the church, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele.

He said that the shooter, also a church member, fired at least one shot from a semi-automatic handgun at Braxton, striking him in the chest. Steele said the shooter, whom he would not identify, had a license to carry a concealed weapon.

He added during a news conference Sunday afternoon that investigators were trying to "determine if the shooting was justified under the law."

Steele said that the shooter, who was not in custody, was not a police officer and had been cooperating with investigators.

Keystone Fellowship, which has four campus locations, announced on Facebook Sunday that a shooting had taken place at its Montgomery campus.

"Our hearts are deeply grieved over the tragic event that occurred Sunday morning, April 24 at our Montgomeryville campus. As a church family, we are shocked and heartbroken over what took place, and our congregation is in prayer for everyone involved," the church said on its Facebook page.

"One man was shot and another man is being questioned by police: no one else was hurt," the post said.

"We should be angry at the situation, we should be, but we gotta deal with anger in a healthy way," Cope said. "I'm angry at this situation. I know Robby, I met Robby. Lord, we know that he's not here, but he's with you."

CBN News contacted The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office for more details about the shooting but was told the office is continuing its investigation.
