Police arrested a Kentucky man Sunday accused of stabbing his father during a church service.

Bowling Green police say Ethan A. Buckley, 21, faces an assault charge after the stabbing at Hillvue Heights Baptist Church.

Authorities say Buckley's father was taken to the hospital, where his condition wasn't immediately known. They did not release the father's name.

Police say no other injuries were reported. Local news outlets say members of the congregation and security workers restrained the attacker.

WBKO-TV says one of the associate pastors reportedly tackled the man who had a knife.

Ashlyn Rice, a witness, told The Associated Press that she heard an uproar near the front of the church while she was standing at the back during the 9:30 a.m. service. She said the disturbance happened near the end of the service.

Rice reported that she heard a man speaking loudly, then witnessed people running for the door. She followed and said she didn't see the stabbing.

"I'm still really shaken up," Rice said. "Church is the one place you think that you'd be safe. Now I don't even know what to think."

"It might take a while for me to feel comfortable going back, especially that church," she continued. "Eventually, yes."

The church canceled its 11 a.m. service.
