Ads Blast 'Anti-Israel Voices' for Changing the Democratic Party

In three separate ads, the Republican Jewish Coalition is blasting three men it says are "anti-Israel voices in the Democratic Party platform process."

The ads, released Tuesday, single out Cornel West, Rep. Keith Ellison, and James Zogby as "progressive platform activists." They accuse the three of holding "extreme positions on Israel."

"Israel must always be a bipartisan issue and sadly we've recently seen that historic bond between Israel and the Democratic party erode and weaken," Matt Brooks, executive director of the RJC, said. "Progressive anti-Israel Democrats are doing everything they can to destroy the pro-Israel consensus that has existed for the past 60 years."

"Sadly, today's Democratic party is not the Democratic party of our parents and grandparents when it comes to being there for Israel," Brooks continued. "These Democrats are attempting to hijack their own platform process and insert language that is unabashedly anti-Israel, effectively undermining official Democratic support for Israel, our closest Middle East ally."

Brooks said the actions of these "progressive anti-Israel Democrats" follow what happened in 2012 when committee members at the Democratic National Convention shouted down platform officials for restoring pro-Israel language in the party's platform.

All three ads refer to their subjects as "radical" Democrats who are "stridently anti-Israel." The ads then describe West, Ellison, and Zogby each as a "hand-selected member of the Democratic Platform Committee."

"Sadly, this isn't the old Democratic Party. It's today's Democratic Party," they conclude.

CBN News reached out to West, Ellison and Zogby, requesting their reaction to the ads. They have not yet responded to our inquiries.

The RJC is the national grassroots organization of Jewish Republicans.
