An Orlando church has offered to provide free funerals to the victims of the worst mass shooting in U.S. history that took place last Sunday.

ISIS sympathizer Omar Mateen open fired in a gay nightclub, murdering 49 patrons and wounding 53 more before being killed by police in a standoff.

Many Christians saw the tragedy as an opportunity to show God's love to the devasted familes and friends of the victims.

Joe Jackson, pastor at Discovery Church was moved to action when he heard the news.

"Our neighbors are struggling, we have to do something," Jackson told WFLA. "You cannot sit here and watch your neighbor struggle, and watch your community struggle and not feel that passion and not want to do something about it."

The Discovery Church congregation decided they could help by establishing a special fund called Heal Orlando. The fund would pay for the victim's funerals, whether it be burials, flowers, arrangements, or a safe place to host a memorial service.

Free funerals isn't the only way this church is reaching out. They are also hosting prayer services, donating blood, and providing water to blood donors at a local blood bank.

"We have to love other people. There is no question about it. We just need to love other people. I believe that's part of our mission," Jackson said.
