Investigation Into Planned Parenthood Reveals 'Virtually Non-Existent' Prenatal Care

Top Planned Parenthood officials regularly insist that their government funding must continue because women depend on services they offer, like prenatal care.

One problem--a recently released Live Action video reveals that prenatal care is "virtually non-existent" at the abortion chain.

Live Action says its undercover investigators searching for prenatal services at Planned Parenthood were turned away by 92 of the 97 centers they contacted.

"Planned Parenthood says it's a champion of women's health care, yet prenatal care, which is an essential service for expectant mothers, is virtually nonexistent," states Lila Rose, president and founder of Live Action.

"Our investigators who wanted to keep their babies were turned away by 92 out of 97 Planned Parenthood centers. It's clear that despite its claims, abortion is the priority and the only option for pregnant women that visit Planned Parenthood."

Planned Parenthood has been putting extra emphasis on its non-abortion services in an attempt to justify the $500 million in taxpayer money it receives every year.

However, Live Actions findings contradict what Planned Parenthood is telling the media and lawmakers.

"Planned Parenthood offers abortions, so they don't offer prenatal care," a receptionist at the Planned Parenthood in Tempe, Arizona told a Live Action investigator.

Another receptionist at the Albany, New York facility told them, "No Planned Parenthood does prenatal care, hon."

A third in Merrillville, Indiana said: "No, we don't do prenatal services. I mean, it's called Planned Parenthood, I know it's kind of deceiving."

Live Action also reports that some of its investigators searching for prenatal care were instead offered abortions.

This video is the first of several that Live Action plans to release as a part of a new series called "Abortion Corporation."

"The upcoming 'Abortion Corporation' investigative videos, combined with our recent video that debunked Planned Parenthood's claim that only 3 percent of its services are abortions, are a powerful argument to defund Planned Parenthood of its half a billion dollars in taxpayer funding," Rose said.

On his first working day in office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order barring federal funds from organizations that promote abortion around the world, including Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood said it will continue to promote abortion around the world, despite the loss of federal funding.

Pro-life advocates applauded Mr. Trump's decision, saying they're optimistic about passing other pro-life legislation during his presidency.

"His administration will have more opportunities to pursue pro-life policies in the weeks and months to come, such as ending taxpayer funding for the abortion industry, signing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, the Conscience Protection Act, and much more," said Melanie Israel, an analyst at the Heritage Foundation.
