Alaska Tsunami Warnings Cancelled after 7.9 Quake

Tsunami warnings have been cancelled after a powerful 7.9 earthquake rattled Alaska's Aleutian Islands.

The largest reported wave from the quake was only 7 inches high.

The quake struck Monday afternoon and was felt throughout the sparsely populated villages on those islands.

The area is about 1,400 miles southwest of Anchorage.
