A school board in California is sending a sex education textbook back to the publisher after parents complained the book is too graphic for ninth-graders.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports the Fremont school board voted 3-2 on Wednesday to reject the new book and use last year's textbook instead.

The new book includes references to sex toys, bondage, erotic touch, and drawings of sexual organs in various states of arousal.

The school board is hoping the publisher can make the necessary changes.
