Jewish Man Attacked By Man With Knife in France

Police in France say a man with a history of psychiatric problems used a knife to attack a Jewish man on Friday. 

The incident happened in the eastern city of Strasbourg.
  
A police spokesman said the attacker was arrested right away, and the victim was not seriously hurt.
  
The spokesman also said the man with the knife reportedly said "Allahu akbar" as he attacked the victim, who wore "clear exterior signs of his religion."
  
France is no stranger to Islamic extremist attacks, and Jews have been specific targets in past incidents of violence.

However, the police spokesman said, in this recent case, local police are not calling it a terrorist attack. The spokesman said the suspect has "clear deficiencies" and a police record. He did not elaborate on that record.
