Artist Turns Paris Church Ceiling Into a Beautiful Night Sky

A historic church in Paris literally demonstrated that the heavens declare the glory of God this month.

"Nut Blanche," or "White Night," featured images of constellations and colorful geometric shapes projected onto the ceiling of the Eglise Saint-Eustache.

The display -- translated as "Heavenly Vaults" -- was created by artist Miguel Chevalier, who installed the lights and used several projectors to overlay the visuals onto the ceiling.

The animations included images of the night sky along with vibrant shapes and lines that followed the design of the church. The visuals were also accompanied by an organ player and a choir.

The animations were influenced by the movements of the crowd below, making for a "virtual reality-like experience," Chevalier said.
