The leader of the Islamic State is calling on ISIS followers to burn their enemies and target what they call the "media centers of the infidels."

That's according to a 46-minute audio recording that extremists say is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. There had been reports that he was killed, so this is an attempt by ISIS to prove he's still alive.

"You soldiers of the caliphate, heroes of Islam and carriers of banners: light a fire against your enemies," al-Baghdadi says in the tape.

"You soldiers of Islam, supporters of the caliphate everywhere, step up your attacks and include the media centers of the infidels and the headquarters of their ideological war among your targets," he continues.

Baghdadi also vows to keep fighting despite the terror group's loss of Mosul in July. He says his goal is to satisfy "God" and reminds his followers about their prize of 72 virgins in heaven if they die as martyrs.

The tapes comes as a surprise for some. Russian officials said in June there was a "high probability" that al-Baghdadi had died in a Russian airstrike on the outskirts of the Syrian city of Raqqa, the group's de facto capital. U.S. officials later said they believed he was still alive.

The notorious leader has remained out of the public eye in recent months but continues to relay messages to his followers through an ISIS-run media outlet.
