The United States will send an additional $380 million in humanitarian aid to Syria.

Secretary of State John Kerry said the money will go to help civilians who are suffering.

The U.S. pledge came during the United Nations International Humanitarian Conference, and was one of many pledges from across the globe.

Kuwait said it will send $500 million in aid, Saudi Arabia offered $250 million, and the United Kingdom pledged more than $160 million.

Secretary-General of the U.N. Ban Ki-Moon said Syria needs a total of $6.5 billion to care for refugees and civilians.
