Burr Temporarily Steps Down as Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Amid FBI Probe

Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) is stepping down as chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. The temporary move comes one day after the FBI seized his personal phone as part of an investigation into possible insider trading.

The Republican lawmaker faces a criminal probe over stock sales in the very early days of the pandemic. Burr denies any wrongdoing and has requested an ethics review of the sales.

CBN News Chief Political Analyst David Brody appeared on the Thursday edition of CBN News's Faith Nation to discuss the FBI's investigation, President Trump's call for a Senate hearing after releasing the names of Obama officials potentially involved in the unmasking of Michael Flynn, and Dr. Richard Bright's testimony on Capitol Hill.

Faith Nation is seen weeknights on the CBN News Channel.  For a programming schedule, click here
