Director, Affiliate Relations and Media Distribution

Affiliate Relations - Virginia Beach, VA

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) is seeking an experienced Director of Affiliate Relations and Media Distribution to provide the short-, mid- and long-term strategic plan for CBN’s affiliates and digital distribution. This professional will direct all negotiations and purchasing of airtime for CBN programming and other related media buying. This position will partner with Programming, Digital Media, Integrated Marketing and Research in collaborative support of the CBN Brand.

The Christian Broadcasting Network, Inc. is a multifaceted nonprofit organization that provides programming via cable, broadcast, satellite and digital distribution including mobile and OTT (Over-the-top) content. CBN’s ministries have long held preeminent positions as a trusted Christian broadcast leader, and that loyal audience affinity extends directly to CBN’s digital properties.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years’ account executive experience in media sales and marketing with TV Network Affiliate relationship management
  • Thorough working knowledge of the television broadcast industry including best in marketing practices and business trends
  • Highly skilled negotiator with proven track record in media buying for television programming and digital distribution
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ComScore, Nielsen, Adobe and other audience measurement tools
  • Immersed in digital strategies and regularly engages with digital products and platforms
  • Solid working knowledge of marketing research
  • Self-starter who will fine tune and improve syndication clearances
  • Excellent oral, written and high-level presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with all levels of management
  • Knowledge of the programmatic landscape and challenges in the marketplace
  • Excellent analytical ability with strong decision making skills
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple campaigns and competing priorities
  • Proven track record of growing accounts by forging a strong relationship with clients, understanding their objectives and recommending best strategies
  • Flexible with ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and be an effective member of a team
  • Solid ethics with an appreciation for wholesome family entertainment
  • Ability to travel when necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major or concentration in communications, public relations or related business-development
