'Never Call Me a Hero': American WWII Pilot Argued Winning Battle of Midway was 'More Than Just Luck'

Monday is Veteran's Day and a lot of people are talking about a new movie that was just released in theaters on the Battle of Midway.

The battle is considered one of the turning points of the Pacific Theatre during World War II.

One of the heroes of that battle was a man of faith, a pilot named Jack Kleiss and he's featured in a Smithsonian Channel special documentary about the battle, airing this week. Check local listings.

Historian Timothy Orr wrote a book about Kleiss titled "Never Call Me a Hero: A Legendary American Dive-Bomber Remembers the Battle of Midway."  He appeared on Monday's edition of CBN's Newswatch to talk about Kleiss, his life, his faith and his actions at the Battle of Midway.

Newswatch is seen weekdays on the CBN News Channel.  For a programming schedule, click here
