Vice President Mike Pence's Chief of Staff Marc Short Addresses Economy, Rhetoric, Refugees

On the CBN News program Faith Nation, Vice President Mike Pence's Chief of Staff Marc Short addressed a wide range of major issues facing the administration.

The economy is sure to be central to the 2020 election, and some analysts are predicting a recession. It appears to be a concern even in the White House which announced Tuesday it's holding off on more Chinese tariffs at least through December.

Short also addressed questions about the president's rhetoric, like a West Virginia senator who sent the president a letter asking him to clean up his language after he used the Lord's name in vain at a rally.

And on the issue of refugees, evangelicals have put a spotlight on global Christian persecution, which has been a big concern for Vice President Pence. Shortly after his inauguration, President Trump pledged to give persecuted Christians top priority, yet the US is now admitting fewer refugees, and critics say the so-called third country rule could leave persecuted minorities in danger.  Watch the video above to hear Short's reply to all these issues.
