"I think what people need to understand that what's called "Operation Peace Spring" by Turkey's Erdogan is not peace at all," says CBN News Middle East Bureau Chief Chris Mitchell.

Instead, he says, Christians living in ancient villages are being targeted by jihadist forces employed by Turkey's military.

After one recent battle, jihadist fighters told Christians they had been ordered not to kill them, but instead took their lands.

"It's sort of like soft ethnic cleansing. When you lose your lands you lose your livelihood. You really have no place to go and no way to support yourself," says Chris.
