“You know this was the place of the seven churches of Revelation, Laodicea, Philadelphia, this at one time was a vibrant place where the gospel flourished and now it's one of the least evangelized places in the entire world…it’s a time in Turkey when freedom is not what it should be," said Mideast Bureau Chief Chris Mitchell.

Turkish President Recep Erdogan recently approved the conversion of the Hagia Sophia, once the largest church in Christendom, into a mosque. It will re-open for Muslim prayers on Friday, July 24. Mitchell says the move is a look into Erdogan's ultimate vision of Islamic expansion. He's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.
