Be Strong and Do the Work

In 1 Chronicles 28, David gathers all the officials of Israel, along with his son, Solomon, to give instructions for the building of the temple. He declares:

"... Be careful to follow all the commands of the Lord your God, that you may possess this good land and pass it on as an inheritance to your descendants forever.

And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted Devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought." (1 Chronicles 28:8-9 NIV)

David lays out the conditions of God's relationship with us to his son:

"... If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever." (1 Chronicles 28:9 NIV)

The Bible tells us that David concluded by saying:

"Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work." (1 Chronicles 28:10 NIV)

The Lord has chosen each one of us to build this New Testament temple of living stones. Let's be strong in prayer today, and press forward to do this work for His glory.
