A View from Eternity

Long, long ago, before the earth was illuminated or the stars twinkled a trillion fold under the canopy of a midnight sky, God, in His contemplation of our life programmed deep within each one of us a divine DNA encoding ... a downloading (if you will) of our eternal destination. We see the first glimpses of these gems of truth in the

"We are chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world."

And then, further on in the book of Ecclesiates we read about a most magnificent implantation.

"He has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds." ( "> OPEN VERSE IN BIBLE (nlt) )

Without a doubt, by way of these very profound Scriptures and many others just like them, we begin to see that there has already been an undeniable spiritual conception that spawns within us a sense of purpose which nothing or no one could possibly bring about but our Master Creator Himself.

The Psalmist knew so well what it was to have the Spirit of God breathe upon him, and with that inspired breath came an enlightened understanding:

"Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.  Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God."  ( OPEN VERSE IN BIBLE (nlt) )

Every child of God has had his beginning in the loins of our Heavenly Father long before we ever set foot on this earth.  We all carry around a certain “living knowledge” that is rarely articulated and though it goes unspoken, it remains within as a simply knowing.

We, in our attempt to feed the beast of the gnawing hunger of, “What’s my purpose in life?” will try everything from the futile pursuit of fame and fortune, to chasing the proverbial “wine, women, and song” – but none of it satisfies for very long, because God has linked us to a much higher realm.

From the time of our conception, God foreordained who our parents would be and what life experiences we would pass through.

"For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son."  ( "> OPEN VERSE IN BIBLE (nlt) )

The word “foreknow” is from the Greek work proginosko which means “to know by experience beforehand.”  Yes, it is for a certainty that God has placed His mark upon us. In the words of Paul

“Now it is time to awaken from out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” ( OPEN VERSE IN BIBLE (nlt) )

And the Spirit of Christ within us is that which accomplishes all the truths and realities of God’s word.  The ongoing process of everything you will ever experience is moving you closer and closer to declaring as Paul did:

“For me to live is Christ.” ( "> OPEN VERSE IN BIBLE (nlt) )

Oh, on that glorious occasion when the Morning Star breaks into our consciousness and the rapturous chorus sounds forth clearly, we will shout for joy at the revelation of the Father’s Will for our lives!

Depending upon where we are standing or from what position we happen to be looking from, will determine just how we see things.

Because of our spiritual regeneration, (our being born from above) God has positioned us as high and lifted up. We are even now seated in the heavenly realm ( "> OPEN VERSE IN BIBLE (nlt) ).

Do you dare believe it?  That often times is just where the problem is. We don’t see that we have been placed at such a high elevation. We don’t view ourselves above life circumstances. We become like the little bird whose cage door is wide open but who never flies out because he doesn’t know he can fly.

When our spiritual eyes are opened to this incredible truth, we will automatically see from a very different perspective.  We will begin to realize that we are no longer looking from the bottom up, but instead, we are looking from the top down. And boy what a view!

"Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the heights above. Praise Him, all His angels, praise Him, all His heavenly hosts.  Praise Him, sun and moon, praise Him, all you shining stars. Praise Him, all you shining stars. Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Let them praise the name of the Lord for He commanded and they were created."  ( OPEN VERSE IN BIBLE (nlt) )
