Forever Changed—a Life-Changing Gift for 4-Year-Old Dishu!

When Dishu was four years old, she fell into a cooking fire and burned both of her legs. Dishu’s mother explained, “The doctor in our village put bandages on, and the hospital gave her some medicine for the pain, but it was not very effective. She cried non-stop and I couldn’t bear to see her in such agony.”

The thick scars that formed made it hard for her to walk. Then during Dishu’s recovery, her father passed away, and her mother became the sole provider for the family. “With my husband gone, I had no money to take her to the hospital for treatment,” said Dihu’s mother. “I felt so helpless. I gave up all hope of Dishu getting better.”

When Operation Blessing found out about Dishu, we paid for the surgery she needed. Dishu’s mother said, “I never thought Dishu would get this medical treatment, or that her legs would ever be straight again.  Now she can walk normally.  It’s a miracle.” Dishu said, “I can walk to school without any assistance, and I can even take my brother on long bike rides.”

Thanks to the support of Operation Blessing donors, Dishu can run and play again. Dishu’s mother happily exclaimed, “I am very thankful to everyone who helped her get this operation. God bless you.”
